Argetlam

A centre to create inner development through music.

Argetlam is a name derived from one of the many elfish languages in the world, meaning “Silver Hand”. This name has been chosen to represent both the inner-self and the hands which help to build and create. Argetlam therefore works with multiple categories.

Music

As a first Argetlam was created as a music project centring on music for meditating, self-healing and yoga -background music. The music is based around frame-drums/ shaman-drums and has been expanded with other traditional instruments like singing bowls, bells and so on.

Argetlam was indeed first inspired to be a musical project, mainly for myself. To start making this music i did research on what i needed. that resulted in following workshops for drum-building. through this i made a drum the traditional way. It resulted in a beautiful drum of 70cm wide, made of horseskin and on a frame of mulberry wood.
The joy of building drums triggered a new interest to explore, which resulted in the Argetlam Shaman drums. The first drums have been made and will be available in the shop. They are handmade, and all original designs (especially the rope craft. ).
They are built especially for home use, but the quality of the drums is enough to also use them for recordings and/or live usage.
Note. these drums are sensitive to temperature, which might affect the tone of the drums.
